Recently graduating from UTS, with a Bachelor of Design in Fashion and Textiles (Honours), Allie Howard is an emerging fashion and textiles designer based in Sydney. Aiming to subvert known forms and techniques, AH’s designs, though experimental, remain grounded in simplicity and functionality. Specialising in texturally rich creations in print (digital and screen), laser cutting and tailoring, each element works collectively and separately to blur the fundamentals of design. With a strong connection to textiles, AH is able to develop conceptual bodies of work through repurposing techniques and juxtaposing ideas, invoking a conversation through the uniquely beautiful, one-off pieces created.
